Track team heads to Nationals.

The Doane Track team left campus today on its way to Geneva, OH for the National Indoor Championship meet. The team is taking 40+ qualifier in hopes that both teams finish in the top ten.

Co-Head Coach of the Year, is hoping GPAC Track athlete of the year Edwin Ronoh and teammates bring home trophies, and that the women, although young finish in the top ten.

"Our mens team is very strong," Fye said. "The top four teams get trophies and we have set a goal to get a trophy."

"Our girls are very young, but talented," Fye said. "We expect them to finish in the top ten."

Baseball has a big weekend

The Doane Baseball team has advanced to 8-4 on the season after outscoring their weekend opponents, 37-2. The team is on a 5-game win streak heading into their home opener.

Preparing for Nationals

The Doane Track and Field teams assurted their dominance once again at the GPAC indoor meet. The men won their fifth consecutive conference championship while the women are now 21 out of the last 22 conference champions. 

Head Coach Ed Fye was pleased with the efforts of both teams last weekend. 

"We have a strong (men's) team," Fye said. "They went in and had a solid meet. It was a team effort and we really performed. 

On the Women's side Fye said the girls came together as a team and stepped up. 

"With Jill out, we lost about 40 pts," Fye said. "Our girls could not afford to slip up and they didnt."
